Bridget Jones's Diary

I've always found it hard to choose a favourite movie, or a favourite anything, but the thing is I've never watched THAT many movies, so I feel like I don't have much to choose from.

Anyway, I'm sticking to this one: Bridget Jones's Diary, starring Reneé Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant, directed by Sharon Maguire.

According to The Internet Movie Database (www.imb.com), the plot is about 'a British woman who is determined to improve herself while she looks for love in a year in which she keeps a personal diary'. That's pretty much it.

First time I watched it was about seven years ago. I rented a DVD, watched it and loved it. I like it because it's funny to see the way she always messes up, is contradictory and kind of flushes her life down the toilet a couple of times during the film. Somehow she's got all the answers right in front of her, but she can't see them because she's too busy doing everything wrong. But of course, there is a happy ending. Twice, because I love 'Bridget Jones, The Edge of Reason' too.

I don't know if this is better than many other movies, but to me is important because of all the above, plus the British accent and the excess of sarcasm.

Here's the trailer:

:D see you next week!

Knee kick! Poppin'! Stomp! Wave! Krump!

This is korean tv spot. I found it about a year ago while lurking around Livejournal communities. I checked it out because it was featuring one of my favourite korean boy bands: SHINee.

First, I laughed out loud. I think it's ridiculous because it advertises some snacks (Oduggi Chips, to be exact) and they're convincing me to buy them by showing me these guys making these weird dance moves.

Oddly, it works, I bought a can of apple juice and a bag of sweet snacks just yesterday because the package had some korean idols faces on it. Korea KNOWS how to base advertising on young music idols. So it's funny and ridiculous but it's effective. In their country, at least.

I like it because it helps me to understand the way perception changes among different countries. In Chile, guys would probably say 'oh that's SO GAY!' and wouldn't buy the product in a million years. It's just fascinating!

I love it  ♥

Someone's shaken my ground!

Last February 27th at 3 am I was fast asleep, but I woke up a few seconds before the whole thing started. I was thinking of someone I had spoken to, that last night. Then suddenly the earthquake came and I held on to my cabin, because I thought it was going to fall on top of me and... I didn't want to be a smashed up person. Once it was over, I got up and went to meet my parents at the living room. I sat down, drank some tea and started to text this person I was thinking of. I got tired at 6 am and went to bed, although sleeping wasn't so easy, considering the circumstances. That person, by the way, was alive and wasn't even scared to begin with.

Meanwhile my parents tried to call some of my relatives. My mom's family lives in Arauco, a small town to the south of Concepcion. She cried a lot, and only got a bit calmed when she got to call them and learned that they were alive, but staying in a hill because they were terrified to stay at home. They can now live in their houses, which are not fine but didn't fall down, so it's better than living in a hill next to some river. Nevertheless, they won't have water supply in two months.

Our house was okay. A broken glass and some damages in my dad's workshop, but we didn't care. We could fix that. Life, on the other hand, was and is still irreplaceable.

Ever since that day, sometimes I'm not scared when the earth's moving beneath my feet, and sometimes my heart jumps right out my chest and goes hard doki. A while later I'm fine. But this has shocked our country in a really violent way, and I don't mean just physically. Our mind has changed. Our fears are greater.

I just hope we, as a nation, could start respecting the earth in the way we should.
Dust we are~ ...

Late for this party?

Hello, I'm sorry I'm so late for this but... whatever.
My name is Angelica and I'm coursing the 5th term of Graphic Design. Only 7 more to go, yay~

I've always been kind of good with english, but I felt the need to speak fluently, so that's why I'm here. Eager to learn and to help you guys out if you need me.

About me~ I don't really like this career but I know I wouldn't study anything else. Except a language, probably. Like Korean or...Japanese or ... Chinese. I like oriental 'everything', from music, to men, to TV-Shows, to a place to live. But I'm here and I'm staying--- for now.

Just in case you were wondering, the picture in my profile is not me; it's Kai, the drummer and leader of the GazettE, a japanese band. He inspires me to go on fighting to survive and to approach new goals everyday. He's cute too.

I hope this wasn't too long.
Let's give our best!
